Starting above the hamlet of Cowlands we take a riverside path along Lamouth Creek to the headland at Roundwood Quay (the only inland promontory fort in Cornwall) before looping back with a picturesque view down to Cowlands Creek, where we shall shortly be walking.
Dropping down to the chocolate box hamlet of Cowlands we follow the creek and beautiful cottages to Coombe with its village reading room/shop. Thereafter we enter woodlands and pass the tea bushes of the Tregothnan Estate.
A climb up a lane and across fields with opening views of the Fal River brings us to the romantic ruins of Old Kea Church for lunch.
A quiet lane takes us past Lanner Farm and down to Cowlands Creek and the return to the cars.
There is limited parking in the layby so the walk is limited to six cars. Organise with friends and book with me please to avoid disappointment.
