This is a C+ walk which follows the Clyde Walkway from Crossford to Kirkfieldbank, taking in the picturesque village of Nemphlar with elevated views over the Clyde valley. It is 'lollypop shaped' in nature both beginning and ending in Crossford and is mainly flat however there is a gradual climb into the village of Nemphlar. On our recce the Stonebyres Linn (falls) were spectacular - enough to match the ones further into New Lanark.
There are some muddy sections so poles are advised and care must be taken with tree roots and branches.
Parking costs £2.00 for the day
The ascent over the fields to Nemphlar will be taken at a sensible and enjoyable pace
It would be nice to enjoy a coffee/tea together in the Farm Park Cafe before the journey home
