An easy walk from Llanymynech, across field paths to the Vyrnwy Aqueduct and then back along the towpath of the Montgomery Canal to the pretty Carreghofa Locks and the dismantled Cambrian Railway beyond Llanymynech, returning via the Llanymynech Limeworks Heritage Area, home of the Hoffman continuous kiln, one of only three remaining Hoffman kilns in the country.
This walk will also give us the opportunity to see the important restoration work along the Montgomery Canal between the River Vyrnwy and Llanymynech, funded by the inappropriately-named “Levelling Up Fund” whilst taking in sections of the Offa’s Dyke Path, Wat’s Dyke Way and the Shropshire Way.
