We start with a steep climb up to Lads Leap and then along the ridge to follow a narrow track along the plateau of Tintwhistle Knarr. After dropping down we cut back NE to Shooting cabins after which we head NW over uneven hard-going undefined territory to join a track that will take us up to Chew Reservoir. Then we go Eastwards to join up with the Pennine Way southbound back to Crowden. If the weather is kind the reward is some spectacular views.
This walk is strenuous and challenging. If you use poles then bring them. If you wear shorts then be prepared for some narrow tight pathways through heather.
Walkers from other groups are always welcome, as are non-members wanting to sample walking with our friendly group of ramblers. Just turn up and make yourself known to the walk leader.
Please make sure you have an ICE (in Case of Emergency) card on you when out walking – you know it makes sense - if you don’t have one then ask the walk leader for one before the walk starts.
