A walk through various green spaces in South London linked by residential streets. We start by passing the dinosaur sculptures in Crystal Palace park before traversing the streets of Penge to pick up the Waterlink Way following the rivers Pool and Ravensboure to Ladywell Park where we will stop for lunch. There is a café for drinks and basic toilet facilities but please bring a packed lunch as we will not be pausing for long. The walk resumes by following the Green Chain passing through cemeteries, disused railway line and woodland back to Crystal Palace park. Please wear comfortable footwear as the walk is on hard surfaces throughout, mainly tarmac with the occasional rough track which may be a bit mucky but not muddy.
Take the 09.58 from London Bridge arriving Crystal Palace 10.20. Alternatively take the 09.50 from Victoria also arriving 10.20. Crystal Palace is in Zone 4. Toilets are available on platform 1.
There are various dropout points along the route including Ladywell station at lunch time and Crofton Park station in the second part of the walk.
No booking required.
The finishing time is an estimate only and will depend on a number of factors including the weather conditions, the speed the group walks at and the number of breaks taken.
