Hemel Hempstead to Chalfont St Giles
Leaving the station, we head off South-West through gently rolling hills, peaceful woodlands and open countryside. The trail crosses Sheethanger Common, skirting Bovington, Flaunden, Sarrat and Chenies villages plus Mount, Carpenters and Philipshill Woods. It's the Chilterns, expect natural beauty...
Chilterns National Landscape (formerly the Chilterns Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty) takes in a variety of ancient woodlands, chalk grasslands and historic villages. Covering parts of Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire. The Chiltern Way is a 177 mile circular route, with various extensions, highlighting the best features of the area.
No exit points. Dress suitably for the Chilterns and the weather with good walking shoes. Please bring a packed lunch.
The finishing time is an estimate only and will be dependent on a number of factors, such as the weather, the speed at which the group walks and the number of breaks taken.
