This classic walk goes up to the highest point in the Black Mountains, Waun Fach at 811 metres high. The long ascent will be taken at a moderate pace to suit everyone on the walk. We will ascend via Rhiw Trumau and Pen Trumau up to Waun Fach. Some of the paths here have been gravelled, so we avoid the previous bogs. We descend via the Y Grib, The Dragons Back and just look at Castell Dinas, the hill with the remains of the highest Norman hill fort in England and Wales. Hopefully we will have fantastic views and really feel that we are in the midst of the Black Mountains.
