Overview

From East Dean Car Park we walk through Friston and up through Chapman's Bottom and Eldon Bottom to the South Downs Way, where there are great views overlooking Eastbourne. We return down Ringwood Bottom before crossing the road and climb up before dropping back down to Burling Farm and returning to the start.

Mud is possible in places, although it is not as bad as many other areas, but sturdy footwear is still essential and walking poles are recommended. This area is hilly, although climbs are steady rather than steep. There is a café and pub by the car park but please bring a drink and any snacks you will require during the walk.
