This walk has been put on for the ECR Dolgellau weekend away.
Start 9.30, Dolgellau Town Centre outside pharmacy in Eldon Square SH 728178. 11.9 miles, 1716 ft ascent (OS app) Easy-moderate or 13.2 miles, 1901 ft ascent (OS app). Moderate. (see details).
Walking from the town centre -> Llyn Cynwch / Pwll-y-gele / the Torrent Walk / Coed / Pandy.
11.9 miles, 1716ft ascent (OS app). Easy-moderate; mainly undulating quiet woodland NE of Dolgellau. Mixture of path types and surfaces. Expect a little scrambling around fallen trees and ancient moss-covered dry-stone walls.
There is a potential option to include the Precipice Walk (SH 736208) instead of just cutting along the side of Llyn Cynwch. This addition is exceptionally scenic, but narrow and likely to be busy and slow-going on a Saturday in June. We can decide on whether to try it when we get up to the Llyn, based on group size and weather conditions (heavy rain but good visibility would be ideal!). With Precipice Walk included, the route becomes 'Moderate', 13.2 miles and 1901ft ascent (OS app).
