Overview

From Cutthroat Bridge layby, Ladybower, we walk in the direction of Ladybower Reservoir through the woods, then make a short steep ascent to Whinstone Lee Tor, and continue upwards towards Derwent Edge. Then we walk on the track along the grouse butts towards Moscar House and then cross the Manchester Road at Moscar Lodge. A long gradual ascent takes us onto Stanage Edge, which we follow most of the way and descend towards Hollin Bank (public toilets!!). Then into Tain Wood, walk past several farms towards Bolehill Wood, then make a steep(ish) ascent up to Bamford Edge, on which we follow most of the way until we get back to Cutthroat Bridge layby.

A mostly moderate walk of 13.6 miles and 2580 ft ascent (Garmin track of the recce), with a couple of steep(ish) short ascents which may feel strenuous.

Please bring pack lunch, snacks and plenty of drinking water.

Sorry no dogs.
