Overview

We start off from Melrose, along to Newstead where we ascend the North Eildon, great views of the viaduct and the Borders countryside on a clear day. Down we go to The Saddle and make our way through the woods to the West Hill. Onward to the River Tweed via Bowden and thro’ Newtown St Boswells, mainly on paths and tracks though 1km on a very quiet road. Once on the riverside, we’ll make our way along a bit before viewing the Viaduct and old Roman fort layout ( good imagination required) and thro’ Newstead back to Melrose.
