Overview

This is a circular walk in the low rolling hills of North West Essex from Newport Station to Audley End, Saffron Walden, Pleasant Valley, Harcamlow Way returning to Newport Station.

Lunch will be at Saffron Waldon where there are places for picnics, a market, cafes and pubs.  People can make their own choice for lunch.

Meet at Newport Station  at 10:30 am.   There is a train from Tottenham Hale at 09:33 arriving at Newport at 10:24.  This train usually starts from Liverpool St.  but due to engineering works will start from Stratford. 

Return trains from Newport are at 42 minutes past the hour.

Drop out point Saffron Waldon ( 6 miles).   A bus can be taken from Saffron Waldon High street back to Audley End station, taking approximately 10 minutes.  For those intending to drop out at Saffron Waldon buy a return ticket to Audley End station.

Do wear suitable walking shoes/boots and bring walking poles if required.
