Overview

In the morning we follow the western slopes of the Darenth Valley, and in the afternoon we walk along the valley bottom, past lavender fields, Lullingstone Castle and Lullingstone Roman villa.  The terrain in the morning section is undulating with some short but steep ascents and descents but fairly flat in the afternoon.  We will stop for lunch in Shoreham village where there is a picnic spot by the river and a nearby pub with time for drinks only  - please bring a packed lunch.  Option to drop out at lunchtime (after 5 miles) and return from Shoreham station.  Joint leaders:  Maggie W and Angela H.
