Overview

This walk starts at The Cock & Rabbit in The Lee, Ballinger Common,.  It is a lovely, leisurely circular walk with a mix of commons, woodland, and classic Chilterns scenery.

From the pub onto the village green pass by the Liberty‑style cottages,  Cross gentle fields and hedgerows before reaching Ballinger Common near the Mission Hall.   Dip into the small valley with beech woods, quiet tracks, and a peaceful stretch through Ballinger Bottom.  There will be a short 'banana break before the gradual climb out of the valley to King's Ash with wide views across the Chilterns.  Return via woodland  and open fields, back to the Cock & Rabbit.
