Goyt Valley & Axe Edge Moor - Thur 9 Oct

Northerly direction from the Cat and Fiddle, descending to Errwood reservoir. We then follow the River Goyt to Goytsclough Quarry and ascend over Goyt’s Moss and onto cross the A537 to Axe Edge Moor. Flanking Cheeks Hill to join the Dane Valley Way heading north through Danebower Quarries and back over the A54 and moors to the Cat and Fiddle.  Risk assessment: Two crossings of the A537, and one of the less busy A54. Some stiles. Mainly moorland walking - paths uneven and rocky in places, and may be slippery if wet. There may be grazing animals
