Overview

BOOKING REQUESTED

Initial ascent of 400 ft to Cartridge Ridge and on to the Limestone Hushings for morning break subsequent to which we follow the Burnley Way across fields and green lanes to descend to Holme Chapel village.  We then have an 800 foot moderately steep ascent (some of it stepped) up to Thievely Pike Beacon (trig point at 1,475 ft) from where we continue with the Burnley Way over Heald Moor back to cars.

Note this walk can be easily shortened for anyone who does not want to do the full climb to the trig, making a 7 mile walk, 900ft of ascent.  Risk assessment: Two four rung ladder stiles and one stony track. Could be slippery sections after heavy rain.
