Overview

From the car park at Rosthwaite we cross the B5289  and take the Coast to Coast (and Cumbria Way) footpath towards Stonethwaite, after a mile we turn left uphill through Huddlestons Shop woods and continue to follow this path to Dock Tarn. After the tarn we continue for a while before veering off to the left to do the final ascent of the twin summits of Great Crag. Next we descend to Watendlath Tarn, here we shall have our lunch (public toilets available). After lunch we have our second ascent of the day to Brund Fell (Wainwright's Grange Fell summit). We then descend to return to the car park in Rosthwaite.
