Welcome to Capital Walkers, the friendly London Ramblers group for people aged 40+. We walk every weekend and usually at least once during the week.
This walk was originally planned as part of the Green Chain walking festival, but had to be delayed. We will be covering sections 9a, 9, 10, 11 and 11a of the Green Chain Walk.
Starting in leafy Chislehurst we pass through a multitude of parks and green spaces, both large and small, well known and off the beaten track.
Lunch will be at Beckenham Place Park, where there is a cafe. However it is always good to have a packed lunch in reserve in case the queues are too long or it is closed for some reason.
The walk will be led at a brisk pace.
The finishing time is an estimate only and will be dependent on a number of factors such as, weather, the speed at which the group walks and the number of breaks taken.
Travel
The 09:55 Orpington Train from London Bridge gets to Chislehurst Station (Zone 5) at 10:22 , or there are a many alternative train and bus routes.
Meet in the car park outside the southbound exit from Chislehurst Station at 10:30.
There are toilets at Chislehurst Station: men's on the southbound platform and women's on the northbound platform.
