Train-based walk

Leader: Paul G, meeting at Walk Start

Meet Point: Near the ticket barriers, or on the platform, at Piccadilly station. Alternatively, meet the group on the train or at the station in Guide Bridge.

Transport to Walk Start: 10:51 train from Manchester Piccadilly (final destination Rose Hill Marple).

Suggested Ticket: Off-Peak Day Return to Hyde Central £7.00

Walk Start: Guide Bridge railway station at 11:05

Waypoints: Ashton Canal, Peak Forest Canal.

Return Services: From Hyde Central: x:23/24 & x:54/55 until 20:55 (no train at 15:54, 17:24, 18:54 or 20:24).

Extra: No toilets at Walk Start. Toilets and cafe en route after approximately 1 mile at Portland Basin.  Optional pub visit at the end of the walk at the Cheshire Ring - note pub is cash only.
