Overview

This is a hilly walk with several ascents and descents, some of which are steep. 928 metres of ascent and descent. We begin at the Half Moon Plumpton ad walk across the fields ( 3 stiles) before heading up to Black Cap. The first part of this ascent is steep and includes steps. We walk down to Buckle Bank to Ashcombe Bottom. We then climb again gently at first andd then a short steep part to Black Cap before walking along the South Downs Way to the Plumpton Borstal which is a steep descent. Sticks, boots and gaiters advised.. The pace will be steady with time to recover at the top of hills as the leader is recovering from injury. This walk will not take place in poor weather. Please check on the day. Dogs welcome on a lead. This walk is accessible by bus from Burgess Hill, Haywards Heath or Lewes. There will be a BYO coffee stop.
