Overview

From the car park we walk to Murdishaw Woods and then to the Bridgewater Canal near to Preston Brook. We walk on the towpath and follow the line of the canal as it passes through the Preston Brook tunnel before continuing on to leave the towpath after Longacre Wood. We then follow lanes to Aston before using field paths to pass Sutton Fields Farm to Sutton Weaver. We then use urban paths to return to the cars. There may be some mud but most of the paths are good. Total cumulative ascent 320 ft. Tel 07843177858. Assistance dogs only. Full Day. Bring lunch and adequate liquids. Booking is essential and opens from 12/02/2026. Book using https://nmc-ramblers.org.uk/ or click link below.
