Overview

This is NOT a scenic walk & has significant road sections. Having crossed the Mersey on the wobbly suspension bridge, we make our way to Warrington's Transporter Bridge (1 of 3 in the country), from there to Arpley Meadows, the site of the only wartime bomb dropped on Warrington that caused loss of life. A section of the Trans Pennine Trail precedes lunch in Victoria Park. Anyone preferring a shorter walk could finish here (7 miles), or continue to see George Formby's final resting place before returning to the (free) CP. Total cumulative ascent 250 ft. Tel 07510286616. Full Day. Bring lunch and adequate liquids. Booking is not necessary for this walk
