Meet in the village car park, by the recreation ground. This is a figure of 8 walk. Join us for the morning, the afternoon, or both. Both start from the same place, and both are about 5 miles.
The morning route will be via Hamstreet National Nature Reserve and Ruckinge, returning via the Royal Military Canal Path (RMCP). Estimated finish time is 12:30. Lunch stop in Hamstreet - bring own food or there’s a shop, cafes, and pub in village – please make your own arrangements. There are no public toilets, but the cafes and pub have toilets for customers.
Afternoon via RMCP to Kenardington Church, returning via the Saxon Shore Way. Much of the way is flat or only gentle slopes. Well-behaved dogs on leads are welcome, but please note that we may encounter livestock along the way and there are likely to be stiles which may not be dog friendly – so you may have to lift your dog over them.
Hamstreet is accessible by bus or train from Ashford – the Railway Station is approximately 500 metres from the start of the walk. The Ashford to Lydd No 11 bus also stops near to the station.
