Meet and park on Dover Road, Tilmanstone. (Please note the Dover Road runs parallel to the A256 (Eastry Bypass). It is best approached from the Whitfield end of the A256 by turning off at the Barville Road roundabout then taking an immediate right onto Dover Road).
This circular walk will take us via North Court, Tilmanstone, across the old disused railway track to Eastry and along the Black Lane footpath towards St Clements Church, Knowlton which was the private Chapel of Knowlton Court and later a parish Church. From Knowlton we follow a footpath towards the former mining village of Elvington crossing a Roman Road on our way back to Tilmanstone.
