The walk starts along the riverside on field tracks towards the village of Nisbet. Thereafter we walk half a mile on a quiet stretch of road. Then it’s an uphill climb along a beech tree avenue, through woodland paths and open hillside, leading to the Waterloo Monument.
Lunch on the hill top if weather allows. Returning down hill to a quiet stretch of road leading to the Borders Abby’s Way track this takes us through woodland back to start.
Splendid views on a good day.
Will be wet and muddy in places. Walking poles advised along with sturdy boots.
Two refreshment stops.
