We are the Kensington, Chelsea and Westminster Ramblers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.
Moderate to brisk paced 10 (or 12) mile walk over undulating terrain.
Route: A coastal walk starting at Hastings along the cliffs to Fairlight and to Pett Level. Thereafter fairly flat terrain to Winchelsea. Option to continue on to Rye (2 miles).
Note: at this time of year there is a slight possibility that a section of the end of the walk will be after civil twilight (sunset: 17:01, civil twilight: 17:36). Please bring a torch.
Drop out points: Taxi from pub after 5 miles, infrequent 101 bus from Pett Level after 7 miles.
Food: Pub lunch at The Cove, Waites Lane, Fairlight, TN35 4AX - this pub is fairly popular, so they may be unable to provide lunch - advise bringing a snack/picnic.
Travel: Charing Cross 09.15/ Waterloo East 09:18/London Bridge 09:24 - arr Hastings 10:47.
Ticket/Fare: Buy a CDR to Winchelsea (or Rye if you wish to extend the walk to there).
Finish: Winchelsea Station about 4.30 (or Rye for 2 mile extension).
