Leaving Crux Easton we cross open fields and a road before passing the edge of Hook Copse and emerging opposite Lower Woodcott Farm. Proceeding north eastwards we reach and join the Wayfarer's Walk, where (weather always permitting!) we can enjoy views of Beacon Hill and its surroundings.
We take a permitted path diversion to reach Heaven's Gate, the folly with its uninterrupted view down onto Highclere Castle. Retracing our steps we continue on The Wayfarer's Walk to Three Legged Cross. From here we head south on the road towards our start point before approaching the village via field paths.
Please bring refreshments for a mid-walk break.
There is no restriction on numbers but please book onto the walk by 6-00 pm on Monday, 2nd June.
There is limited space for parking so car sharing is encouraged. There is space for a number of cars on the green by the telephone box - otherwise we are encouraged to park, tucked in as far as possible, on the opposite side of the road and above the cottages.
