The description below has been updated.
The new walk will now pass Halton Woods, The Crong and Bittams Wood to reach Dancers End Nature Reserve to see orchids and we return via Buckland Hoo and Aston Hill. There will be some hills and the brambles and nettles are growing quickly now so shorts may not be best attire.
All are welcome to get a takeaway when we are back in Wendover. (Suggest from the George & Dragon for Thai Cuisine) https://georgeanddragonwendover.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/11/Take-Away-Menu.pdf
or: for alternative options: https://wendovergrillandkebabs.co.uk/
(Or alternatively, you could bring your own packed meal).
Well behaved dogs allowed. Need to be on lead in reserve and well managed when we are eating.
Walk leader: Alan C
Bring poles if you use them. Thai Take-Away at the end to eat on 3 picnic benches in Witchell Meadow at about 7.30pm so bring cash / card for payment to the George and Dragon. (There is a bargain £7.50 Thai meal deal at the bottom of the menu for Sundays to Thursdays)
We will travel in a smaller number of cars from the Witchell Pavillion car park to another location from which we will start the walk.
