Heyshott to Graffham – Circular Walk
Leaders: Suzanne with Richard as joint leader from Heartsmart - This is a combined Heartsmart and Ramblers walk for those who wish to join us for a weekday rambler.
Duration: Approx.2.5 hrs. Distance: Approx. 5.5 – 6 miles. Ascent 900 ft.
A part of the walk is on uneven ground, so sensible shoes required. Dogs are welcome, if they are calm with livestock. Dogs will need to be on a lead for the duration of the walk. Please bring poo bags.
This is a circular walk from Heyshott to Graffham and back to Heyshott. The first part of the walk is a 900 foot climb onto the South Downs Way at Heyshott. This climb is to be taken at your own pace, as this is not a race.
There are wonderful views from the top and then a descent to Graffham. We then find our way back to Heyshott through fields and footpaths. A small stretch could be muddy and there could be some live stock in the fields.
We then find our way back to the Unicorn Pub in Heyshott. Heyshott is a lovely village south of Midhurst and is famous for its association with the 19th Century free trader and Liberal MP Richard Cobden.
Dogs are welcome, if they are calm with livestock. Dogs will need to be on a lead for the duration of the walk. Please bring poo bags.
For those wishing to have a drink in the pub afterwards, we have an arrangement with the Landlord, that you can use their car park, instead of parking on the road.
There is parking in the quiet roads around the village and there is also the pub car park.
At the end of the walk The Unicorn is very welcoming to walkers. Richard and Sue would love you to join them there for a post walk drink.
