A walk to keep you warm on a winters day. From the village of Shipham we will pick up the West Mendip Way before reaching a peak above Axbridge. This provides a steep drop down to the recently improved Strawberry Line. Having gone down the hill we will then turn and begin our climb up through Shute Shelve and Winscombe Drove to return to Shipham via Sidcot and Winterhead.
The weather on the Mendip Hills can change quickly so please check the weather forecast and dress appropriately. You will need sturdy footwear for this walk. Although graded a moderate walk you will need a good level of fitness and be used to hill walking. Please bring a drink and a light picnic.
If you wish to car share please meet at the free car park off The High Street, Paulton. It's opposite The Red Lion pub and down behind the Chinese Takeaway, (Golden Fields). If it's easier to meet us at the start of the walk, please do so.
