A lovely Kent Christmas walk. We head south via the pretty village of Leigh, descending through open woodland and Penshurst Park to the village of Penshurst. We stop here for lunch. There should be an opportunity to visit the Christmas market and there is a pub, but please bring a packed lunch. The route continues west through the picturesque Haydens Country Park with its lakes following the River Medway to Tonbridge.
Travel: Take the 9.45 from Charing Cross (London Bridge 9.54), arrives Hildenborough 10.25) Buy a return to Tonbridge. There are several trains an hour from Tonbridge back to London
