Overview

This is the third walk in the Mountain Fitness series, designed to build on the strength and stamina developed during the previous walks. We’ll set off from Goring-by-Sea and make our way to Shoreham, following a scenic route which takes in the really  impressive early Iron Age hill forts of Chanctonbury and Cissbury Ring.  As the landscape is really open, it gives great views of both the South Downs and the sea.  The terrain is undulating so expect plenty of ups and downs. Total ascent of around 800 metres.

There will be a picnic lunch stop during the walk, so please bring a packed lunch. Also bring plenty of snacks and water.

Travel: Take 8:46 from London Victoria (8:53 Clapham Junction, 9:04 East Croydon), arrive. 10:18 Goring-by-Sea.
