Overview

A high walk over tracks and grassland with a couple of short sections on farm roads. We leave Hethpool on St Cuthbert's Way, heading on grassy tracks around the cultivation terraces. We climb steadily up over Laddie's Knowe and follow the tracks up to Ring Chesters hillfort. We then head towards Eccles Cairn and on to Wideopen Head. It's downhill now to Trowupburn before a sharp uphill to Great Hetha. We then head steeply down and follow the valley road back to the carpark.

As with all hill walks there may be livestock.
