Overview

We will be walking in a landscape carved by glaciers and we will visit the site of ancient earthworks.

Starting from Kettelshiel, we walk the Kaims before crossing Fangrist burn and heading across moorland towards Greenlaw. After visiting the Blackcastle Rings and the Deil's Neuk, we head back across Greenlaw Moor towards Kettelshiels via Hule Moss.

Terrain: open moorland with short sections on paths

Difficult conditions underfoot make this a challenging walk. Although the total ascent is relatively low, the short climbs are steep, with tricky descents.
