Overview

The walk starts from Hungerford Common where there should be sufficient parking, although car-sharing may be useful. We cross the road to head towards the Kennet and Avon Canal which we follow through Hungerford passing a swing bridge and turning left to cross the railway line from where we head towards North Standen House, Lady's Wood, and Standen Manor. After crossing the A338 we head through Elm Copse and The Heath in order to reach Bitham Lane where a lunch stop is anticipated. The route then goes via Sadlers Road and New Templeton Gorse to reach Templeton Stud before taking field paths to Hungerford Common. There are three stiles, one of which is in slightly poor condition.
