Overview

The route crosses Hungerford Common to drop down to the Kennet and Avon Canal, which we then follow westwards past Hungerford to reach the recently renovated lock-keeper's cottage just beyond the swing bridge. Turning left, we head towards Standen Manor via the railway line and field paths, passing North Standen House on the way. The route then passes through Elm Copse and The Heath to reach Bitham Lane, from where it gradually descends to Little Common before gradually climbing to Balsdown Farm. We return to the cars via Templeton Border and Templeton Stud.
