A varied walk including downland views, woodland trails, canal towpath, equestrian estates and pretty hamlets and villages. From the start we head south climbing up to join the Wayfarers Walk at Walbury Hill. We head west to Combe Gibbet for a coffee stop with, hopefully, fabulous views as far north as the Ridgeway. We then descend Inkpen Hill and head north, north east cross country to Kintbury for a lunch stop beside the Kennet & Avon canal. After lunch we follow the canal east before crossing and heading south, south west back across Inkpen Common to return to our starting point. There are six stiles, a number of gates and a mix of terrain that is likely to include some muddy/frozen sections. There are a couple of short road sections, the longest being about 400m.
Please bring food and drink for the day.
This walk is limited to 16 so please use the link to book your place.
Please note it is not currently possible to cross the Kennet & Avon Canal due to flood water/ice at any of the crossing points along the A4 between Newbury and Hungerford. From Newbury travel via Enborne and Hampstead Marshall and from Hungerford across Hungerford common taking the turning signposted to to Inkpen.
