Overview

This is an introductory walk aimed at anyone who is interested in walking and maybe even joining Ramblers.  It will go through Bushy Park, go over the history of WWII and the planning of the D-Day landings from within this park, some history about some interesting Ants and even a bit about Bushy House and how a man living with his mistress and 10 children found out he had become King.  We'll stop at the Pheasantry for lunch, you can bring sandwiches and eat them on the benches outside or come inside and purchase food and drink.  We'll travel on to Home Park, Hampton Court's 'back garden' and how this park and Bushy next door were used for hunting by King Henry VIII and other monarchs.  We'll walk around the Long Water and along Barge Walk and on to Hampton Court station.  Toilets at the Pheasantry and Hampton Court Stations.  Possible to opt out at the lunch stop, at about 1 mile after the lunch stop (buses to Kingston/Hampton Ct stations).  Once in Home Park there are few opt outs.
