A brisk and undulating walk around the Kent Downs AONB, finishing at Rochester Castle, where there is the annual Christmas market - it is also the weekend of the Dickensian Christmas Festival! Bring a packed lunch - the lunch stop will be around 9 miles distance at the village of Cobham where there are public toilets and three pubs to choose from (for drinks only) - but there will only be time to choose one! A brisk pace (aiming for an average of 3.3 mph if conditions are dry) so to get to the finish in good time, but the Christmas market is open until 9pm. Also reasonbaly undulating with a total ascent of 650 metres. The walk is llikley to end in the dark, so please bring a head torch.
Travel: take the 9:42 from London Victoria (Denmark Hill: 9:52, Bromley South: 10:05) arrive at Sole Street at 10:31. Buy a return to Rochester. Meet just outside the entrance of Sole Street Station - please note it has no toilets, so please use those on the train.
