We are the East Cheshire Ramblers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.
Park at Higher Fold car park (SJ933747) off the B5470 Rainow Road, Macclesfield, then walk 100 yards north east along the Rainow Road towards Rainow to reach the bus stop opposite the George & Dragon in time to catch the 9:58 number 60A bus from Macclesfield towards New Mills.
Bring bus pass or fare. We will alight at Kettleshulme and walk back via Paddock Lane, Todd Brook, Handley Fold farm, to meet the Gritstone Trail then over Sponds Hill and continuing on the Gritstone Trail to White Nancy and Kerridge Ridge before descending to Swanscoe and back to Higher Hurdsfield. This is a moderate walk of 8 miles and 1400 feet of ascent. May be muddy in places. No dogs please. Bring a packed lunch.
