We are the Take a Hike Ramblers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.
Setting off from the car park in Kettlewell we head East through the village before heading north up to Cam Head. We continue to head north towards Tor Mere top then onto the memorial Cross, next stop is Buckden Pike the highest point on the walk and our lunch stop. After lunch we then make our way off the top down in to Buckden (toilet at the carpark if needed), we now have a choice of two routes back to Kettlewell.
Option 1 – we keep east of the river and the main road calling at Starbotton then onto Kettlewell this makes the walk 11.95 miles with 2739 ft total ascent.
Option 2 - we go west of the river and take the Dales Way and head south towards Kettlewell making the walk 11.6 miles with 1800 ft of total ascent.
