This walk approaches the Campsies escarpment and Earls Seat from the north. Starting from Killearn, the route follows the ridge that runs north from Dumgoyne, then climbs the escarpment face. On reaching the bealach between Canny Face and Dumgoyne, the path heads eastwards to Garloch Hill and then follows the escarpment crest over Bell Craig and the Ballagan Tops before swinging down to Earls Seat. The return route takes in the Clachertyfarlie Knowes. Expect a long (>1000m) and steep climb and descent of the escarpment.
