An undulating upland hill walk with scenic views, weather permitting. From the car park we head up Creag na Criche, following a mix of tracks and open moorland to reach the obelisk at the summit of Craig Gibbon. This is one of the hills marking the line of the Highland Boundary Fault, generally regarded as the southern boundary of the Highlands. After admiring the views and descending the Craig, we circle back passing Loch Tullybelton and Ordie Burn as well as a couple of slate quarries.
Mainly good paths and tracks but some rough heather moorland and short strenuous ascents. There are at least two stiles and a couple of ford crossings which can be challenging following rainfall. Paths could well be muddy. Poles and gaiters recommended.
Bring lunch, a snack and hot drink.
Limited parking so please car share when possible.
