This walk starts at York Place carpark, we then cut through Knaresborough and walk past Collingham Hall following the Beryl Burton Ringway towards Bilton Hall crossroads. We the walk down towards Nidd Gorge and following the river Nidd we walk for for a mile and half through the Gorge. The lovely Autumn colours should be on display. After we leave Nidd Gorge we will stop for some lunch and admire the views across the washburn valley, where we can stop for some lunch.
We then walk pass old Bilton along good paths towards Starbeck. We cross Knaresborough road at the traffic lights and join the Knaresborough Round passing through some woods and fields past Harrogate Golf over the railway line and over some fields to the Riverside at Knaresborough. We can then climb the steps towards the castle to see the views across Knaresborough.
Toliets at the start of the walk. There are plenty refreshment options at the end of the walk for tea cake and beers.
This walk is mostly on good tracks, however the the Nidd Gorge section can be very muddy and we walk along boards which may be slippery.
We cross the the busy Knaresborough road at the traffic lights. We also cross the railway line near Calcutt this has a alarm signal now.
