The walk begins at Overtoun House car park above Dumbarton. Our route climbs steadily overlooking a mixture of mature and newly planted woodlands. There are steps part of the way to the viewpoint at Round Wood Hill. We continue on a gradual ascent up to another viewpoint at the crags. A narrow path continues along the length of Lang Craigs, with spectacular views over the river Clyde, Dumbarton rock and weather permitting across to the Arrochar Alps, Ben Lomond and beyond. Following the crags to tree line, before descending on a grassy field path below crags, taking us back to car park. There is a tea room at Overtoun House for refreshments following this walk.
Depending on weather conditions the route can be muddy at parts and gaiters advised. Care is required on the high crags, particularly when path narrows. Short spells of steep descent and walking poles recommended.
