This linear walk between Leicester Space Centre (please see important information below regarding parking at the start) and Enderby Park and Ride links Leicester’s varied riverside green spaces. We will visit Abbey Park, created in 1882 as a Victorian pleasure park, Bede Park a modern green space created in the 1990’s from the regeneration of Bede Island industrial estate and Castle Gardens, created in 1926, formally used as allotments. The final part of the walk is along the Great Central Way, route of the former Great Central Railway.
PARKING IS AT BIRSTALL PARK AND RIDE, PLEASE ARRIVE BY 9.45 TO CATCH THE 10.00 BUS TO LEICESTER SPACE CENTRE.
No mud and no stiles.

One main stop.
Bus fare will be needed for Park and Ride, bus passes are valid. Dependent on numbers paying for tickets price will range between £1.20 and £4.85 max. There is not a direct bus between the two P&Rs but the connection is at one bus stop.
Well behaved dogs are allowed on the bus.
