We are Coalville Ramblers - a friendly group based in the heart of the National Forest. We offer a programme of 3 walks each week, from 5 miles to 10 plus.

Starting from Gotham church the walk will take us through the hills of South Nottinghamshire to West Leake church and back. The walk offers lovely countryside and distant views from the high ground.
Leaving Gotham we will follow parts of the local heritage trail with a short steep climb up Gotham Hill offering panoramic views across Nottingham and beyond. We will then cross over to the West Leake Hills, following the ridgeline past the Cuckoo Bush barrow and skirting the edge of Rushcliffe Golf Club, before descending to the village of West Leake.
After a stop at West Leake church we will return via Dark Lane, and climb again into the West Leake Hills before descending back to Gotham.
After the walk there is the option to adjourn to the Cuckoo Bush pub in Gotham.
Please note that there are no toilets or cafe facilities available during the actual walk. However, the Cuckoo Bush pub will be open when we return to Gotham and is just across the road from the starting point.
Most of the walk will be on field paths and tracks but the start and end of the walk will be through the village of Gotham. There is also a short section through the village of West Leake.
The walk does include one short but steepish climb up Gotham Hill. There are no stiles.
Parking is available around Gotham church - both by the church itself and in the surrounding streets (Leake Road & Malt Street). Please park considerately.
Meet by the Church of St Lawrence in Gotham. There are some parking spaces by the church, but plenty of street parking in the immediate vicinity on Leake Road and Malt Street. Please park considerately.
