We are the Brighton and Hove Ramblers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.
A linear walk from Lewes Rail station to The Swan at Falmer. 9 miles bit lots of options if you want a shorter walk. We start along the river to Offham ( 1st opt out bus every hour back to Lewes) We then climb fairly steeply to Black Cap ( 2nd opt out -walk downhill to Lewes Prison bus stop 4.6 miles) We continue along the ridge and south downs way ( 3rd opt out - downhill to Housedean farm bus stop 7.4 miles) The walk continue to St Mary's Farm and through the back of Stanmer Park to The Swan. There are a variety of public options back to Lewes or to Brighton. Likely to be muddy/slippery, sticks advised. Please bring a packed lunch. Walk will not take place in bad weaather, please check on the day. Dogs may have to be on lead and definitely while walking through livestock. 856ft of ascent, 591 ft of descent
9.56 train from Brighton, 9.59 London Road, 10.02 Moulsecombe. Leader will join train there. Free parking north side of Moulsecombe station. Alternatively lots of bus options from central Brighton You can also park at Lewes and catch a train or bus back to there from Falmer.
