Overview

About 5.5 miles moderate; one footpath narrow and poor condition for short stretches, but an alternative available if required. Route: From Lindow Common Car Park we follow Kings Road, then R. Bollin into Carrs Park. We take the high level (narrow in places) path past the remains of St. Olav’s Chapel and make our way to a picnic area for a short stop, where there are toilets (20p) and seating. We turn westwards, through meadow grass to Twinnies Bridge. We follow the R. Dean NE towards Linneys Bridge, then take recently improved Wilmslow FP19 (drainage, surface, and kissing gates installed by ECR FP Projects Team) to Quarry Bank Mill. Our return to the Carrs passes the confluence of Rivers Dean and Bollin. We return to Lindow Common along a bridleway past the Rugby Ground then residential footpaths.
