A walk with varying conditions underfoot as we tramp through grass paths, muddy paths, canal paths, woodland paths etc. Although it’s a circular walk it’s more of a dumbbell shape. This is partly to avoid the 100+ steps from the river bank in Muiravonside back up to the canal aqueduct. Lovely views from the picnic benches in the park and we will be wandering through the farm so might catch sight of Rudolph. This will be a fairly leisurely walk as we are not in a race against time unless it’s torrential then we can all challenge Usain Bolt.
The ground conditions vary from tarmac to mud which means it could be slippery underfoot. This goes for any wooden walkways we have to cross and steps which we will be using. Care should be taken. Poles could be useful, I will certainly have mine.
Local walk grade C+
